Main road links in the Val di Fassa:

The Val di Fassa is located in north-eastern Trentino; it also borders Alto Adige to the west and Veneto to the east. It is possible to reach the valley by car from various locations, by driving through the passes all around the valley itself.

The most important, smooth-flowing road is the SS 48. After leaving the Brennero motorway (A22) at the Egna - Ora exit, after a short distance you will turn onto the SS 48. Continue through the Val di Fiemme until you reach the first town in the Val di Fassa, Moena. (Ora-Moena: 45 km).

An alternative route leaves from Bolzano (Brennero motorway exit: Bolzano Nord) proceeding through the Val d'Ega across the Costalunga Pass (also known as the Carezza Pass) to arrive in Vigo di Fassa. This route is quicker than the one above, if we consider the distance between the motorway exit and the first town in the Val di Fassa; however, it is more difficult, especially in winter. (Bolzano-Vigo: 37 km).

People coming from the Veneto region can choose the Serenissima motorway, turning onto the A22 at Verona, followed by one of the routes described above. Alternatively, travellers may decide to use one of the passes that surround the Val di Fassa. Once past Ponte nelle Alpi - Belluno, it is possible to enter the valley through the San Pellegrino Pass, the Rolle Pass, the Fedaia Pass, and the Pordoi Pass, according to your starting point.

The Val di Fassa also has a bus service to link it to the railway stations of Trento and Bolzano. In the summer months, luxury coach services come directly into the valley from cities such as Milan, Venice, Padua, Genoa, Bologna, Florence and others.
